Diary, 1846 July 27-1846 Nov. 27, of an officer attached to General John E. Wool's army on its march from San Antonio through Chihuahua to Saltillo during the Mexican War. Entries include routine observations on the weather, geography, illness among the troops, living conditions, number of miles covered daily, activities of his fellow officers, etc. Also includes a description of San Antonio and the author's unfavorable opinion of General Wool.
